Dr. Martha Burk is a nationally known gender pay equity consultant. She performs pay equity analyses for city, state, and county governments, non-profit organizations, and private sector companies. Her work also includes systems design for pay equity reporting by businesses contracting with state and local governments.
Dr. Burk is available for initial consultation without charge regarding independent, confidential evaluation of pay practices, and for planning and/or implementing gender pay equity initiatives.
Dr. Burk advises city, county, and state governments on gender pay equity, and conducts internal pay analyses for private sector companies seeking to improve their understanding of wage gaps by gender and race. She designed and implemented the first-in-the-nation equal pay contractor reporting initiatives for the State of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque.
Dr. Burk holds a Ph.D. in experimental psychology with an emphasis on research and statistics, and has authored major software systems under contract with the U.S. government for use in universities, school districts, private businesses, and non-profit organizations. She currently serves as Money Editor for Ms. Magazine, and is a frequent public speaker on topics of gender equity.
